# Embracing Self-Publishing: A New Path for Writers

Chapter 1: The Importance of Following Guidelines
In a recent exchange, I received a private message from a writer who has been given the same feedback multiple times. This situation could have been avoided had she taken the time to read our submission guidelines or learned from previous communications. We strive to provide our writers with valuable support, feedback, and guidance. It's crucial to remember that our editors volunteer their time, sacrificing their own writing endeavors to assist you.
Please be aware that numerous articles I have written aim to convey this message politely, yet it seems that many individuals are eager to write but often overlook the importance of reading.
Section 1.1: My Most Revealing Interview Yet
I find myself apprehensive about how my latest interview will be received.
Subsection 1.1.1: The Need for Credibility
If you aspire to be a credible writer, it is essential to familiarize yourself with the publication's rules and adhere to them. Ignoring these guidelines could result in your removal from the platform. When you receive feedback from editors, it is vital to read their comments thoroughly instead of responding with, “What do you want me to do?”
Please take the time to read the feedback and links provided.
We aim to assist those who genuinely seek improvement and are willing to learn. However, ignorance and a lack of consideration are not qualities we are looking for in our contributors, which may lead to their removal. Remember our motto: #StrongerTogether. We are building a supportive community that values writing, reading, and engaging with each other’s work. Patience with our editors and fellow writers is essential; we all start somewhere!
Chapter 2: The Reality of Starting Your Own Publication
The first video discusses the challenges and motivations behind self-publishing. It highlights the evolving landscape of publishing and why many writers are shifting focus.
Section 2.1: The Work Behind Publishing
We strive to publish approximately 25 articles daily, yet we receive around 60 submissions. This discrepancy means we must sift through numerous drafts to find high-quality content. If your submission is not accepted, don’t be disheartened; instead, reflect on the feedback provided and consider our suggestions.
We are attempting to limit the prevalence of "get rich quick" schemes and overused titles, which have already saturated the market.
The second video explores the pressures writers face in the publishing community, discussing why some choose not to publish their works.
Section 2.2: Crafting Engaging Content
When composing your articles, consider your audience. Will they be captivated by your cake-baking adventures, or is your extensive knowledge of history more appealing? While both topics could interest some, readers are more likely to subscribe to publications that align with their interests. If you’re struggling with content ideas, I’ve created a guide titled “A Year’s Worth of Content Titles.”
