Finding Balance: Navigating Weight and Well-Being in Life

Chapter 1: Understanding Natural Instincts
Have you ever noticed that wild animals rarely carry excess weight? It's amusing to think about, but it’s also a reflection of their instinctual behavior.
And this brings us to an important point...
Wild animals only eat when their bodies signal a need for nourishment. It’s hard to picture a lion pursuing an antelope merely out of boredom or sadness. According to the laws of nature, food serves a purpose: to provide energy for the body to function optimally.
Is this concept any different for humans? Not really.
Many years ago, an experiment was conducted with young children who were given a choice between healthy and unhealthy foods. Interestingly, they gravitated towards simple, nutritious options rather than sugary or fast foods. This behavior stemmed from their undeveloped subconscious programming, allowing them to act on their natural instincts, following the fundamental laws of life.
However, as humans grow, societal influences begin to shape our behavior, leading to unhealthy patterns:
- Feeling sad or bored? Eat!
- Sweet treats are seen as rewards.
- Guests must be offered food.
- Declining food can be perceived as a slight.
Consequently, individuals often lose their innate ability to care for themselves at the most basic level—providing their bodies with the necessary proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and vitamins. This has become such a widespread issue that numerous apps, courses, tutorials, and books have emerged, teaching individuals what they inherently knew as children—how to eat properly, much like babies or wild animals.
Consider the staggering number of individuals struggling within this "beige sector," which represents basic survival.
This "beige sector" corresponds to a stage of early development where individuals learn to care for themselves. Mastering this fundamental skill is crucial as it lays the groundwork for future decision-making and self-interest. In simple terms, it teaches one not to starve or endanger their life without a significant reason.
While this understanding comes naturally to children, it seems to become an overwhelming challenge for adults. Many spend years attempting to lose weight, combat sugar cravings, follow restrictive diets, and even undergo surgical procedures.
In this context, discussions about self-care and self-love often fall flat. It's ironic to think that self-love might lead one to undergo a major surgery simply because they can’t resist sugar!
